From 2019 to 2021, I wrote for Netflix’s genre vertical NX (now rebranded to Netflix Geeked).
As a full-time contractor focused on the anime market, I screened titles, developed campaigns, and engaged the community across creatives and fandom. Here’s a selection of some of my favorite work.

Hill House /nosleep Stories
My first project with NX as a freelancer before being hired on full-time. They commissioned a pair of stories for the reddit horror fiction board /nosleep based on lore from the show. I pulled inspiration from both the Shirley Jackson novel and the few bits of the series I was given to watch.
Aggretsuko Masking Video
In collaboration with Sanrio, we put together this Aggretsuko video in which she sings a metal track about proper COVID safety procedures. I wrote the lyrics and the whole thing turned out exactly how it sounded in my head. Real proud of it, especially considering it’s still relevant somehow.
BLM Thread
In the wake of the summer 2020 protests, every brand had to reckon with an attempt to acknowledge the real world. I pitched this thread and collaborated with another writer on the edits, in which we acknowledge the state of fandom and attempt to push the channel’s conversation further.
Spotlight Series
The Spotlight Series was another attempt to increase the channel’s representation, something I conceived and wrote the majority of its profiles. Without explicitly saying it was a PoC only showcase, we did a PoC only showcase including fandom figures, professional talent, and industry legends.
